Aircon regas and aircon repairs with Broomhill Garage

How often should you regas your aircon?

At Broomhill Garage, our fully accredited service technicians can provide aircon repairs, re-gas and service for your vehicle. Regular aircon service ensures that your aircon system lubricants and gas are topped up and the whole system is operational and efficient.
We recommend that you regas your car aircon system every two years with gas and lubricant, to keep it running efficiently. Over the year, your aircon gas escapes by about 10%. Regular servicing ensures that your system remains in tip-top condition and keeps you cool when it matters.
There are currently two types of aircon gas available on the market. R134A gas is common in vehicles manufactured before 2014. Nearly all vehicles with air conditioning manufactured since 1st January 2017 include the new R1234YF aircon gas which is more environmentally friendly. R1234YF gas was phased in by vehicle manufacturers over time so vehicles rolling off the production line between 2014 and 2016 could require either gas. If you are not sure what gas your vehicle needs please call our IMI credited technicians.
If you don’t regas the aircon system, it will gradually become less efficient, making the vehicle uncomfortable in hot weather, and take longer to demist the windows in winter. Not regassing your aircon system will be bad for your vehicle in the long run, with pipes likely to crack and parts likely to seize up if your aircon system isn’t used.
